This month’s exclusive royalty-free sample sample collection is a selection of loops and samples from the Roland Juno-60, which was one of the first hybrid digital/analogue synthesizers in Roland’s Juno series. Considered by many to be richer and punchier than it’s Midi-compatible sibling, the Juno-60’s chorus and analogue circuitry were inherently more stable than that found on other analogue synths of the time as the oscillators were digitally controlled.
The Juno-60 followed a simple design, having only one oscillator, one LFO, a 24dB/octave resonating low-pass filter, one envelope and three-position high-pass filter. However, even with only these simple parameters, the Juno-60 remains an incredibly popular instrument for it’s fat pad and bass sounds.
The collection has been produced by Richard James Audio Design and includes some excellent rhythmic loops, multi-sampled instrument patches, synth swells and effects. The library includes .WAV samples in 24bit.
